FAQ
TALON Grips fix an area of shooting that cannot be perfected through practice alone- a slippery grip. This custom stick-on grip gives you better control and faster, more accurate follow-up shots. Improving your control, comfort, and precision increases your safety, confidence, and enjoyment while shooting.
If you own a firearm, shoot a firearm or carry a firearm, then the answer is YES. TALON Grips benefit every kind of shooter out there. Whether you are a military or law enforcement professional, competitive shooter, someone who carries for personal defense or you just like to plink cans in open spaces, everyone can benefit from having a better grip on their firearm. Although we are most known for our grips on pistols, we do also make grips for rifles, shotguns, and we have Do It Yourself sheets for anything else you'd like to get a better grip on.
No, TALON Grips install easily in just minutes. The adhesive we use on these stick-on grips is very forgiving and can be peeled up and stuck on again. Our proprietary adhesive is pressure and heat-activated. Once you have the grips in place, the last step of the installation is to warm the grips and firmly press into place. This will conform the grip to the frame making it seem like it was shipped this way from the factory. There are thousands of installation videos on the internet. Click here to see our installation video.
No worries. First of all, until you warm the grip and press it firmly into place, you can remove it and reinstall it with little to no effect on the grip. If you have heated the grip up, dropped it on the floor, the dog has eaten it or anything else has gone wrong, simply contact our customer service at info@talongrips.com and we will get you all taken care of.
TALON Grips are the only US Patented single-piece stick-on gun grips. They are thin, adhesive backed grips that are about .4 mm. TALON Grips are cut using state of the art technology, and they are designed to go on over the existing manufacturer's grip. These grips will change the interface between the shooter's hand and the platform by increasing the friction while adding little to no bulk.
TALON Grips was founded out of necessity for a better grip on LE department issued firearms. Creativity, attention to detail, and the constant desire for improvement have been some of the guiding principles since TALON's founding. We pride ourselves in making the best adhesive backed grips with unbeatable customer service. The rubber texture is a textured rubberized material that helps you maintain a positive grip on the firearm. It is well suited for complete comfort during concealed carry. This texture is also ideal for those with softer hands.
The PRO texture combines the best characteristics of the granulate and rubber textures. This texture is comfortable enough for most people when carried against the skin in concealed carry applications and provides a strong enough grip for competition use. This texture performs very well in wet and dry applications.
The Granulate texture is often compared to skateboard tape or sandpaper. It helps maintain positive grip on the firearm even when hands are wet, slippery or greasy. Granulate texture is typically preferred in competition shooting or open holster carry. The granulate texture may be uncomfortable during concealed carry, but can be made smoother by sanding it with 120 grit sandpaper.
Read More Here or Watch TALON Talk TV- Differences in texturesThe PRO texture combines the best characteristics of the Granulate and Rubber textures in one revolutionary grip. The texture is made of ground up rubber. The PRO texture is comfortable enough for most people when carried against the skin in concealed carry applications and aggressive enough for competition use.
The Rubber-Moss comes in the same pebble texture rubberized material, but since December 5, 2017 it has been available in this custom color as well. This grip color is our own version of Flat Dark Earth (FDE). We call it Moss rather than FDE after noting that Glock's version of FDE differs from Smith & Wesson's and so on. Although Moss is different from some manufacturers version of FDE, it compliments them all well. It is also an inexpensive way to add a custom color to a black firearm. The granulate texture is very aggressive and does consist of tiny particles that can come off. These particles can end up in your holster and contribute to additional wear on the finish of the firearm. This situation is rare, but worthy of noting.
Absolutely. Customer satisfaction is a top priority for TALON Grips. If you need to exchange your grip for whatever reason, please send your unused grip in original condition back to us at: TALON Grips, 2522 Copper Ridge Drive, #B5, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487 along with a note saying what you would like done with the returned grip (exchange for another grip/exchange for another texture/refund) and we will process that request as soon as we see it.
First of all you can look at the back of the grip and there is a number printed or burned into the paper backing (this will be 3 digits). Verify that you received the grip that you ordered by looking at that number vs. number on your packing slip. If the numbers match and the firearm listed is correct, then review the instructions for proper installation or go to https://talongungrips.com/installation/ for our installation video. If the number is incorrect or you ordered the incorrect grip email Orders@TALONGrips.com or call 970-879-9600.
TALON Grips can be easily peeled off at any time. Any adhesive that remains on the lower frame can easily be removed with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. You will not be able to reinstall a grip once it has been removed.
Design of proper grips is an imperative part of the TALON Grips mission. We take a great amount of time on each grip, ensuring proper fit and performance. We will post on Facebook and our website as new grips are designed and become available for sale. Please send emails to GripRequest@TALONGrips.com of firearms you are interested in seeing a grip for. We use these requests to prioritize the next design.
All of our orders include instructions for both the front wrap and rear wrap installation. Instructions and videos are also available here on our website at TALONGunGrips.com/installation
If you need to remove your TALON Grip from your firearm, most of the adhesive will come off with the grip. For the small amount of adhesive that may remain on the grip, rubbing alcohol will remove it bringing it right back to the original configuration.
We guarantee that our grips will last 90 days. If the instructions are followed correctly, these grips can last years (depending upon installation, use, storage, etc). We have had some customers tell us that their grips have been on since we were founded in 2009.
You can buy them direct from our website. There are also other online dealers as well as our ever growing Dealer Network. To find if there is a dealer near you, go to our Dealer Locator here. If you are interested in becoming a dealer please visit our Dealer Inquires page at TALONGunGrips.com/Dealer-Inquires
Certain cleaners will attack the adhesive of the TALON Grips so you should avoid aerosol cleaners like Brake Cleaner, Break-Free, Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber, etc.

Most of the time the answer is yes. The TALON Grips are less than .5 mm thick, and so in most cases, they can be installed first and the Crimson Trace laser will fit over the grip. The M&P line is slightly different, and you can either cut off the backstrap portion of the grip or order the M&P Pro grip pre cut. Learn More Here.
Answer provided from TG customer: I used the larger ribbed adapter on my G19 and the smaller non-ribbed adapter on my G26. They will fit over the Talon Grips. If you look closely at the G26 you will see that the Grip Force adapter on the G26 doesn't fit quite as well as the Gen4 backstraps. I am going to experiment with the Grip Force Adapter on the G26 to see if I like it. If I don't like it, I will pull the adapter off and just run the Talon Grips. I found that if I put the grip pin most of the way through I could hook it around the pin on one side and then further extend it on the far side to make it go on. I thought you would like to see what is possible. The Grip Force Adapters are not listed as Gen 4 compatible. You can be the judge of what the final outcome is. The Glockstore part # is TO966 BK (black). I haven't fired the G26 with the Talon Grips and Grip Force Adapter yet. (Pictures available by request)
